Millbrand Residence
The Millbrand residence has been in the family for 70 years, originally purchased in 1953 and then purchased by Don and Kathy Millbrand in 1979. The barn/shed was located on the property when it was originally bought. The barn is currently used to house the family’s hobby farming/gardening equipment.
The quilt block is Son’s Star and was selected because the Millbrand’s son is a veteran. The quilt block “spoke” to Kathy based on the name of the block. Kathy and Don recently retired and they enjoy quilting, woodworking, and gardening on the rural dead end road
Son’s Star
The Son’s Star block is displayed on the Millbrand family barn/shed which is used to store their “hobby farming/gardening equipment”. This building has a very low ceiling structure.
Son’s Star Quilt
Kathy Millbrand pieced this quilt and displays it as a wall hanging in her home. She also spends her time as a Group Leader for the Quilts of Valor Organization
Yard
Spring is in bloom in the Millbrand yard with tulips all around the address sign. The Son’s Star block on the shed in the background.
