Algonac Lions Club

The block for the Algonac Lions Club was designed to feature their service through highlighting the silhouettes of the leader dog and the lion.  The colors chosen are their signature colors.

Lions International was founded in 1917, best known for fighting blindness.  However, they also serve many projects including caring for the environment, the hungry, seniors, youth and the disabled.

The Algonac Lions Club upholds these desires.  Each year they orchestrate the Pickerel Tournament, a means of raising funds to support the needs of our community along with many other functions.

The Algonac Lions mission is to empower Lions clubs, volunteers, and partners to improve health and well-being, strengthen communities, and support those in need through humanitarian services and grants that impact lives globally, and encourage peace and international understanding.  To be the global leader in community and humanitarian service.

Getting the block ready

Hanging the block takes dexterity. He probably could use another pair of hands here.

Hanging the block

They used double ladders to hang the block with steady hands from the ground to help.

The block is displayed prominently on the building as seen from Marsh Road.
