Algonac-Clay Library
The Algonac-Clay Library, formed in 1901 by the Ladies Library Association, was the third library to become part of the St. Clair County Library System.
In 1949, the library was located in the main part of the Greek revival home that currently houses the Algonac-Clay Historical Society Community Museum. In 1997, the Hemenger Family donated their hardware store to the city of Algonac, which is currently the Algonac-Clay Library.
This 6000 square foot, one story branch is located along the St. Clair River.
The block chosen represents the community’s love of books with the heart and the stack of books. The shades of blue are a reminder that the library is situated on the water route.

The sign paint was refreshed and welcomes patrons to the library.
New patio
A new patio was built along the canal in the rear of the library. Patrons can rent fishing gear and fish here.
